4-2-2 Names and Functions of Parts of SCSI Disk Watcher

This section explains the names and functions of the
parts of the SCSI Disk Watcher main window.
Menu bar

1 Tree View pane
Displays in tree format the ports and SCSI busses to
which surveillance target disks (managed disks) are
connected, together with their device ID numbers.
The device IDs correspond to the disk numbers
displayed in the Windows Disk Management tool.
Drive names are also displayed for disks where
partitions have been created.
Notes
• Drive letters are not shown for disks which have been
upgraded to dynamic disks (for example, spanned
volumes or striped volumes).
• Device ID numbers do not indicate the physical
positions of disks. To check the correspondences
between physical positions of disks and device ID
numbers in the Tree View pane, select the Blink LED
command (see page 4-18) from the Information
menu.

2 List View pane
Displays a list of information about the disks
connected to the workstation.
You can select items in the list by clicking them.
Multiple selections are possible. (Keep the Shift key
pressed as you click to select a range of items, or keep
the Ctrl key pressed to select individual items.)
The list is made up of the following columns.
No.
Displays device ID numbers for the disks. These
numbers correspond to the disk numbers shown by the
Windows Disk Management tool.
The color of the icons in this column changes
according to the state of the disk. You can check the
meaning of the icon color by looking at the
information in the Status column.
