Fuel system
Check that the carburettor is sealed.
No leakage is permitted at 50 kPa.

Assembly sequence:
1. Gasket (A).
2. Control diaphragm (B).
3. Cover (C).
4. Fuel screen (E).
Fit the jet needles and adjust their setting.

H-needle
A tolerance of ± 1/2 turn applies to all
needle installations.
NOTE!
The H-needle is a little more pointed
than the L-needle.
Press the stop plugs (A) in position using
tool 540 06 82-01.
Both nozzle needles can be turned a
further ¼ turn by turning each stop plug
using a small screwdriver.
Connect pressure tester 531 03 06-23 to
the fuel intake on the carburettor.
Pump up the pressure to 50 kPa.
Lower the carburettor in a vessel with
petrol in order to discover any leaks more
easily.
No leakage is permitted.
Assembly sequence:
1. The gasket (A) must be placed closest
to the carburettor housing.
2. The control diaphragm (B) with the
handle turned towards the lever arm.
3. Cover (C). Make sure the nipple (D)
is properly aligned, i.e. towards the
choke valve so that the latter can be
pushed into the air fi lter holder. Also
check this is open in order to expose
the control diaphragm to atmospheric
pressure so it can move freely.
4. Press the fuel line (E) down using a
suitable mandrel.
