Requirement

The following requirements must be met for using the
extension set 1 687 846 016:

Supplementary equipment set for common rail injec-
tors 1 687 010 333.
R
Non-Bosch injectors accessory set 1 687 010 186.
R
Only test cleaned and complete injectors.
R
Do not clamp injectors for testing if they are dama-
ged and / or severely corroded.

Training

The extension set 1 687 846 016 is intended for trai-
ned specialist personnel with operational knowledge
of EPS 708 or EPS 815 in connection with the test
sets CRS 845 / CRS 845H and CRI 846 / CRI 846H
and knowledge of injector testing in diesel workshops.
Completion of a training course on "Testing and repai-
ring piezo CRIs" at the AA training center is mandatory.
The operating instructions must be thoroughly read and
observed for your own safety and to prevent damage to
the equipment through improper handling.

The return adapter 1 687 016 138 (Fig. 1, item 1) con-
nects the return of Siemens / VDO / Continental piezo
CRIs (Fig. 1, item 2) to the hose assembly of the return
device 1 687 419 047 by means of the hose assembly
1 680 712 322.

Before using the return adapter, check the O-ring for
damage. Change the O-ring if defective or brittle.
Detached bits of the O-ring will damage the injec-
tor, the return device 1 687 419 047 or the quantity
measurement system of EPS 708 / EPS 815.

Secure the return adapter using the locking clamp
(Fig. 1, item 3). The locking clamp comes with the
injector.

The hose assembly 1 680 712 322 and the return
device 1 687 419 047 are included in the supple-
mentary equipment set 1 687 010 333.
