    The purpose of this manual is to provide the user with the basic information on the relay REJ 527 and to focus on detailed instructions for using the Man-Machine Interface (MMI) of the relay. In addition to the instructive part, the manual includes a short chapter discussing the service of the relay.

How to adjust display contrast Contrast of the display is automatically adjusted depending on the ambient temper- ature. To obtain optimum readability, the contrast can be adjusted manually. To change the contrast, the LCD display must be in idle mode.

    Operator’s Manual Technical Description REJ 527 is designed to be used as a stand-alone protection relay in medium voltage distribution systems where the relay can be applied as the main or backup protection relay of an object. The whole function software used in the relay is preloaded into program memory in production stage.

When contacting ABB for ordering service, please state the possible fault code. Note! Static protection relays are measuring instruments that should be handled with care and protected against moisture and mechanical stress, especially during transport.

The high voltage generated by an open CT secondary circuit could be lethal and may damage instruments and insulation.
