Chapter 3 Cleaning and Carriage of Built-in
To enable the Built-in DVD-RAM drive and disks to be used safely and normally, clean the
Built-in DVD-RAM drive routinely. In addition, always follow the procedure described below
to carry the Built-in DVD-RAM drive. (Appendix B describes the disk handling. Also see the
Appendix.)
Cleaning of Built-in DVD-RAM Drive
Do not disassemble, repair, or alter the Built-in DVD-RAM drive.
Never attempt to disassemble, repair, or alter the Built-in DVD-RAM drive on any
occasion other than described in this User's Guide or the manual of the computer in
which the product is installed if you are not a maintenance engineer. Failure to
follow this instruction may cause an electric shock or a fire as well as malfunctions
of the product.
Cleaning of Built-in DVD-RAM Drive
Clean the surrounding area of the Built-in DVD-RAM drive routinely so that the disk
insertion port and other portions may not be covered with dust.
•
Turn off the power of the Built-in DVD-RAM drive.
•
Wipe out any dirt with soft and dry cloth lightly.
•
If heavy dirt is found, immerse cloth in diluted kitchen detergent (neutral), wring out
the cloth, and wipe the dirt with the cloth.
•
Follow the notes on chemical cloth if used.
•
Do not use solvents including benzin and thinner.
