miniSD™ Card
miniSD™ is a trade mark of SD Card Association.
The miniSD™ Card is an accessory which allows you to store files if you need extra storage
space, if you do not wish to store files on your mobile, if you wish to exchange files with other
devices (e.g. a mobile or a PC). You can also use it to store files to be viewed or played on
another device. Your miniSD™ Card is a storage space which can support all format types.
You can therefore store files such as Phone book cards, Pictures, Melodies, Videos, etc. The
file types that can be viewed from a miniSD™ Card must be supported by your mobile (e.g :
.3gp video files). If your miniSD™ Card contains files whose formats are not recognized by the
mobile you will not be allowed to read them.
The miniSD™ Card to be used with your mobile is of miniSD™ Card type. Please use an
Adapter to use it on another device if this device does not support the miniSD™ Card type.
The miniSD™ Card and the Adapter may not be supplied with your mobile. Please contact your retailer.
The M430i mobile phone was designed to be used with the miniSD™ Card type provided in
the pack. Any attempt to use another miniSD™ Card type may damage the mobile and be
hazardous. Damage resulting from such use shall not be covered by our guarantee.

Handling and storage precautions

- Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately.
- When using the card with non-SD compatible equipment, make sure to insert into the Adapter
and remove together with the Adapter as one. Do not remove the card while the Adapter is in
equipment. Misuse can cause malfunction or damage the equipment or data.
- This card is formatted to the SD memory card standard. If reformatting is ever necessary, format
it using SD compatible equipment or SD formatting software. Formatting the card with any other
software will make the card nonstandard and cause problems with compatibility and performance.
- After removing the card and the Adapter from equipment, immediately store them in its case.
When storing the card, insert into the Adapter.
- Do not disassemble or remodel.
- Do not impact, bend, drop, or wet.
- Do not touch the metal terminals with your hands or metal objects.
- Do not allow dust, garbage, etc. to get in the Adapter's slot.
- Do not attach other labels or stickers.
- Do not use or store in locations that may be affected by static electricity or electrical noise.
- Do not use or store in locations directly exposed to sunlight, a heat vent, or a heating appliance.
- Do not use or store in humid or dusty locations or in locations exposed to corrosive gases.

Protecting your data

- When inserting the card into the Adapter, we advise you switch the write-protect
switch to LOCK (switch down) to prevent accidental loss of data. Unlock
(switch up) when you want to record or edit the card again.
- Use an oil-based felt pen to write on the card or the Adapter. Do not use pencils or ballpoint
pens as these can damage the card, the Adapter or data on the card. Take care to keep the
metal terminals free from ink.
- While data is being read or written, do not remove the card or turn off any equipment using
the card. Do not remove the batteries from battery-operated equipment. These actions can
cause data to be destroyed.
- Make backup copies of your data wherever possible.
