Installing a RAID Controller Module

1 Carefully insert the RAID controller module into the empty module slot.
2 Push the module to the back of the slot until it is firmly seated in the backplane connector (see
Figure 4-4).
3 Push the release lever in (towards the enclosure) until the module is retracted into the slot and is
secure.
For information on controller connections and cabling, see "Cabling Your RAID Enclosure" on page 19.
Removing and Installing a RAID Controller Module Backup
Battery Unit
Each RAID controller module has a battery unit that provides backup power for the data cache memory.
The battery unit is mounted inside the RAID controller module and connects to the controller circuit
board. This section describes how to remove and replace the battery unit.
