  • Page 8 Breaking-in The New Machine Remark Your Komatsu machine has been thoroughly adjusted and tested before shipment from the factory. However, operating the machine under full load before breaking the machine in can adversely affect the performance and shorten the machine life.

(09822-03000) WARNING - In order to prevent an accident resulting in injury or death caused by error-operation, confirm the machine motion and indicated operating pattern, when operating machine.

(09839-03000) WARNING - To open or close the front or ceiling window, never stand up from the operator’s seat before throwing the lock lever to the LOCK position. Inadvertently touching any of the working equipment control levers might cause the machine to start moving all of a sudden, probably resulting in a serious injury.

(09808-03000) WARNING - Improper use of booster cables and battery cables can cause an explosion resulting in serious injury or death.

Warning when swinging or traveling in reverse (22B-00-21290) When swing or backing up excavator, press button to change display mode in monitor so you can see rear and side of machine. Before moving, look around and at mirror and monitor to confirm that no one is around the machine.
  • Page 28 SAFETY 19. Danger when handling battery (09664-30011) EXPLOSIVE GAS - Cigarettes, flames or sparks could cause battery to explode. Always shield eyes and face from battery. Do not charge or use booster cables or adjust post connections without proper instruction and training. KEEP VENT CAPS TIGHT AND LEVEL - Poison causes severe burns.

Never touch when hot. 24. Warning Do not use ether (6732-81-4630) Engine equipped with electric heater Starting aid, use of ether may cause explosion and severe injury.
  • Page 30 SAFETY 26. Cab Tilting Procedure (207-00-A8340) Park machine on level ground, lower attachment, and stop engine. Secure any loose objects in the cab and riser. Remove the eight cab riser mounting bolts and install them in the storage nuts near the bolt heads. Turn on the cab tilt battery disconnect switch located in the battery box.
