When you attach the lens to the DXC-9000, DXC-9100P,
DXC-990, DXC-990P video camera (not supplied), you can
focus the subject on the RM-C950 remote control unit (not
supplied).

Set the F switch to A.
The F switch is factory-set to A.

Focus the subject using the FOCUS control of the RM-C950.
