Visualization Station Setup

Start with the Visualization Station. A visualization station with 3-4 high-end HP 30-inch monitors can
provide a very immersive experience for either a power-user or group review settings. Smaller
monitors such as HP's 24-inch flat panel display can also be used to drive cost down and still provide
a visually compelling and immersive environment. Below is such a setup with a single 30 inch and
two 23 inch displays.
Suggested Hardware Requirements
The following are suggested hardware requirements. Use more or less based on your needs.
HP xw9300/xw9400 Workstation with:

Two single core Opteron processors

Or, two dual core Opteron processors if apps exploit multi-processing
o
Dual NVIDIA FX450 or FX5500 graphics cards (other graphics cards can be used if 30-inch

displays are not used)
Or, dual NVIDIA Quadroplex boxes (to support more displays or single card per display)

If stereo is required:
•
StereoGraphics CrystalEyes stereo glasses
o
StereoGraphics stereo emitters
o
NVIDIA Gsync card for graphics card synchronization
o
High refresh CRTs
o
If stereo is not required:
•
3, or 4 HP LP2465 DFP Displays (24-inch, 1920x1200)
o
3, or 4 HP LP3065 DFP Displays (30-inch, 2560x1600)
o
3
