This step is required so that an accelerated kernel module for the new SMP kernel gets built.
NOTE: The matching kernel source (kernel-source*.rpm) must be installed for this step to be
successful. On Red Hat EL 4 and later, matching kernel source is not required.
Identify the accelerated driver that was installed on the UP kernel.

rpm –qa |grep nv
rpm –qa |grep firegl
Remove the driver that was identified.
5.
rpm –e <name from output of previous step>
Install the new driver.
6.
rpm –i <driver name>.rpm
Run one of the following configure scripts.

cd /opt/hp/graphics/<vendor name>
./configure
Verifying HT Technology
To verify that HT Technology is active and working correctly:
Check /proc/cpuinfo to see how many CPUs are identified.
1.
Run top to verify that processes are active on all virtual processors.
2.
Measure application performance with HT Technology disabled and enabled.
3.
Conclusion
This newly integrated functionality requires relatively new BIOS and kernel versions. Not all
applications run faster with HT Technology enabled.
