Disconnecting the unit

Make sure to exit Windows Media Player before discon-
necting the USB cable.
For details, refer to the operation manual for the PC.
! Windows Millennium Edition

Click "Unplug or Eject Hardware" on the taskbar.

Click "Stop USB Disk - Drive(*:)".

"Safe To Remove Hardware" appears. Click the "OK"
button and disconnect the USB cable from the PC.
! Windows 2000 Professional

Click "Unplug or Eject Hardware" on the taskbar.

Click "Stop USB Disk - Drive(*:)".

"Safe To Remove Hardware" appears. Click the "OK"
button and disconnect the USB cable from the PC.
! Windows XP Home Edition/Professional

Click "Safely Remove Hardware" on the taskbar.

Click "Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device -
Drive(*:)".

"Safe to Remove Hardware" appears. Click the mes-
sage and disconnect the USB cable from the PC.
(*:) Drive letter of this unit
Note:
After the above operation, the USB connection display
still remains on the unit (the display changes when you
disconnect the USB cable).

Hold function

When the hold function is turned on, all buttons on the
unit will be inactive. To make changes to the operation of
the unit, turn the HOLD switch off.
Move the HOLD switch to the safety position (direction
indicated by the arrow).

Note:
If the hold function is active when the unit is turned off,
the unit cannot be turned on by mistake and the battery
will not be drained.
