Man Down is an alternate way to activate the
Emergency feature on the condition the Emergency
must be set up for this feature to operate.
See
Man Down
on page 57 for details.
Sending an Emergency Alarm
This feature allows you to send a data transmission,
which identifies the radio sending the emergency, to
the dispatcher.
Note:
The default timer of Emergency button press
to activate Emergency is 50 milliseconds. This
timer is programmable from 50 – 6200
milliseconds by a qualified technician.
Press the preprogrammed Emergency button.
One of the following scenarios occurs:
send alarm and/or make
emergency call.
The radio reverts to the
preprogrammed
emergency talkgroup to
send alarm and/or make
emergency call.
The display shows EMERGENCY and the current
zone or channel. You hear a short medium-
pitched tone and the LED blinks red
momentarily.
The radio sounds a short low-pitched tone to
indicate that the selected channel does not
support emergency and rejects to launch
emergency mode.
When you receive the dispatcher's acknowledgment,
the display shows ACK RCVD. Four tones sound, the
alarm ends, and the radio exits the Emergency Alarm
mode.
If no acknowledgement is received, the display shows
NO ACK. The alarm ends and the radio exits the
Emergency Alarm mode.
Sending an Emergency Call (Trunking Only)
This feature gives your radio priority access to a
talkgroup.
1 Press the preprogrammed Emergency button.
One of the following scenarios occurs:
The display shows EMERGNCY and the current
zone or channel. You hear a short medium-
