RECEIVE
Turn the power switch ON and turning the volume control clockwise. Next, turn
the CHANNEL selector to your regular operating channel. Normally, once you
have selected this channel, it will not be changed.
Finally, adjust the volume control for the desired listening levels.
NOTE
If your radio is programmed with QT or DQT signaling, there will be virtually
no noise coming from the speaker, even at full volume setting. You will hear
transmissions being made by other radios IN YOUR SYSTEM ONLY.
Н your radio is NOT PROGRAMMED with QT or DOT, you will hear ALL
TRANSMISSIONS being made by any stations using the channel, or no one is
using the channel, the radio will remain quiet.
To adjust the volume, press the monitor key, and allows you to hear alt activity
on the channel. Set the volume control for a comfortabie listening level, and
again press the monitor key, allowing it to return to the OFF position, for normal
operation. With the monitor key in the OFF position, radios will ignore
transmissions from stations other than those in your system.
At the first reception of a message from your dispatcher or another vehicle in
your fleet, you may wish to make a minor adjustment of your volume control.
5-2-1.
Scan and PRIORITY Channel
Pressing the SCAN key starts scanning. When the scan stops at a channel
other than the priority channel, the signal alternately between the channe! and
the priority channel.
The priority channel may be selected by the channel selector knob or may be
fixed, as initially selected by your dealer during installation.
Taking the microphone offhook reverts the radio to the priority channel (dealer
selectable to stay on the current channel for non-priority channel scan).
5-2-2. DRS (Digital Recording System)
If the optional DRS unit is mounted, pressing the REC key records the received
tones. Recording lasts for up to 32 seconds. Press the AUX key to play back
the recorded data.
