Configuring the Appliance
Use
FireWall-1 log file switches.
Check Point SMTP proxy services do not work.
Assurenet Pathways Defender Security System does not work (use Radius
authentication with the Defender Security System).
Make sure you enter the correct feature and key with your license.
The network security platform module and management station must
have the same control authentication keys.
You receive an authentication failure if they do not match.
If configuration through Voyager fails, you can configure the appliance by
using console commands.
The console commands you use to configure the appliance are:
cpstart
commands.
Make sure the appliance can ping, by name, the management module
host. Also verify that the management module host can ping, by name, the
external IP address of the network security platform.
Names are case sensitive.
Verify the host name.
VPN-1/FireWall-1 checks two files for the host name (
/etc/nodename
Address Assignment and Change Hostname. Make sure an entry exists
for the gateway and that it is identical in both files. This name and IP
address are used to synchronize the management computer with the
network security platform. The name is case sensitive on all computers.
