Using the Rollover Protection System
(ROPS)
The ROPS is an integral and effective safety device. Keep
the ROPS in the raised and locked position and use the
seat belt when operating the machine.
Lower the ROPS temporarily only when absolutely
necessary. Do not wear the seat belt when the ROPS is
folded down.
Be aware there is no rollover protection when the ROPS
is in the down position.
Be certain that the seat belt can be released quickly in
the event of an emergency.
Check the area to be mowed and never fold down the
ROPS in areas where there are slopes, drop offs or water.
Check carefully for overhead clearances (i.e. branches,
doorways, electrical wires) before driving under any
objects and do not contact them.
Keep the ROPS in safe operating condition by
periodically thoroughly inspecting for damage and
keeping all mounting fasteners tight.
Replace a damaged ROPS. Do not repair or revise.
Do not remove the ROPS.
Any alterations to a ROPS must be approved by the
manufacturer.
Service
Do not store the machine or a fuel container inside where
there is an open flame, such as near a water heater or
furnace.
Keep the nuts and bolts tight, especially the
blade-attachment bolts.
Never interfere with the intended function of a safety
device or reduce the protection provided by a safety
device. Check their proper operation regularly.
To best protect your investment and maintain optimal
performance of your Toro equipment, count on Toro
genuine parts. When it comes to reliability, Toro delivers
replacement parts designed to the exact engineering
specifications of our equipment. For peace of mind, insist
on Toro genuine parts.
Check brake operation frequently. Adjust and service as
required.
