Programming the HP 16500B
To set up for Ethernet programming
Select Done. Your Communications status display in the System

Configuration Menu will look like this:

The asterisk next to the word "Ethernet" indicates that the Ethernet port has
been selected to be the controller port. This prevents commands from being
accepted by the HP 16500B via HP-IB or RS-232.
