The standard configuration of memory is 256 MB on the primary board,
as four 64 MB DIMMs in slots J1 through J4 (shown in Figure 2-2
above). Add memory four DIMMs at a time. If you use both boards, both
must have the same type and number of DIMMs in the same slots. For
example, if you have filled one board with sixteen 64 MB DIMMs, and
want to add more memory, you will need to move 4 DIMMs to the
second board, then add another 8 DIMMs to it, so that each board has 12
DIMMs.
Figure 2-3 shows the layout of a 4 GB Memory Board. Each board's 16
DIMM slots are divided into four banks of four slots.
