Install Service Pack 3
Install Microsoft Service Pack 3 from the first CD of the Microsoft Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition.
Installing HP NetRAID Software and Configuring the Disk
Arrays
Install the NT NetRAID driver and NetRAID Assistant software to prepare the server for installation of the
Microsoft Cluster Server software:
Installing the NT NetRAID Driver
To install the NT NetRAID driver:
1.
At the Windows NT's Control Panel start the SCSI Adapters utility.
2.
Select the Drivers tab, Add, and then Have Disk.
3.
Insert the disk labeled NR Firmware and Driver that you created earlier into the floppy drive and click
OK.
If you have not created this disk, go to Appendix A - Obtaining HP NetRAID Utilities and create the disk.
4.
Follow screen prompts to install the driver, then remove the disk and click Yes to reboot the system.
Installing NetRAID Assistant
To install the NetRAID Assistant software that manages the cluster's disk arrays:
1.
Insert the disk labeled HP NetRAID Assistant 1 that you created earlier into the floppy drive. If you have
not created this disk, go to Appendix A - Obtaining HP NetRAID Utilities and create the disk.
2.
Run SETUP.EXE.
3.
During installation of HP NetRAID Assistant, you will see two options:
Manage NetRAID adapters
Manage NetRAID adapters in NT and Netware servers
4.
Choose the option that does not include Netware servers.
5.
Since you will be turning off the system in the next part to perform cluster cabling, do not restart the
system when prompted, simply remove the HP NetRAID Assistant 1 disk from the drive, shutdown
Windows NT, and turn off power to the system.
NOTE
Make sure you repeat all the above procedures in this part for System B at this time.
When you have completed these instructions go to Part 5 - Connecting Shared Storage
and LAN Adapters.
