Gasoline
Use extremecarewhenhandlinggasoline.Gasolineisextremely
flammableand the vaporsare explosive.Neverfuel machineindoors
or while theengine ishotor running.Extinguishcigarettes,cigars,
pipes,and other sourcesof ignition.
Alcoholblendedfuels (calledgasoholor usingethanolor methanol)
canattract moisturewhichleadsto separation and formationof acids
duringstorage.Acidicgas can damagethe fuel systemof an engine
whilein storage.
Toavoidengineproblems,the fuel systemshouldbe emptied
beforestoragefor 30 days or longer.Drainthegas tank by starting
the engineand lettingit run untilthe fuel linesand carburetorare
empty.Usefresh fuel next season.See STORAGE Instructionsfor

Neveruseengineor carburetorcleanerproductsin the fuel tankor
permanent d amagemayoccur.
1.
Removefuelcap from thefuel tank.
2.
Make surethecontainerfromwhich youwill pour the gasolineis
cleanand freefrom rust or foreignparticles.Neveruse gasoline
that may be stale from long periodsof storagein its container.
Gasolinethat has beensittingfor any periodlongerthan four
weeksshouldbe consideredstale.
3.
Fill fueltank with clean, fresh,unleadedregulargasolineonly.
Replacefuelcap.
NOTE:Checkthefuel levelperiodicallyto avoidrunningoutof
gasolinewhileoperatingthe tiller.

Ask a licensedelectricianifyouare notcertain.
If you havea groundedthree-prongreceptacle, p roceedas follows:
1.
Attachsparkplug wire and rubberbootto sparkplug.
2.
Placethe gear selectionleverin NEUTRAL.

Plugan extension cordintotheoutletlocated on theengine's surface.
Plugtheotherendof extension cordintoa three-prong 120-volt,
grounded, A Coutletina well-ventilated areaSee Figure12.
