A. This appliancehas a pilot whichmust be lightedby
hand.Whenlighting thepilot,followtheseinstructions
exactly.
B. BEFORE LIGHTING smellall aroundtheappliance area
for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor because
somegasis heavier thanairand willsettleon thefloor.
WHAT TODOIF YOUSMELLGAS
: Do nottryto lightanyappliance.
Do not touch any electricswitch; do not use any
phone hi yourbuilding.
• Immediately call yourgas supplier f rom a neighbor's
phone.Followthegassuppfier's instructions.
• If you cannotreachyourgas supplier,call the fire
department.
C. Useonlyyourhandto push[nor turnthegas control
knob.Neverusetools,if the knobwill not pushin or
turnby hand,don'ttryto repairit, calla qualified ser-
vicetechnician. F orceor attempted repairmay result
in a fireor explosion.
D. Do not usethis applianceif any part hasbeenunder
water.Immediately call a qualifiedservicetechnician
to inspecttheappliance andto replace any pertof the
controlsystemand any gas control whichhas been
underwater.

2. Remove outerdoor.
3. Set the thermostatto lowest settingby turning the
watertemperature d ialclockwise, (f_-'_) to itslowest
temperature setting (witharrowon dial)as shown,DO
NOT FORCE.
4. Turngascontrolknobclockwise _
to "OFF posi-
tion.Knob cannotbe turned from "PILOT" to "OFF"
unlessknobis depressed slightly. D O NOT FORCE.

5. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. If you then
smell gas,STOP!Follow"B" in the safetyinformation
above on this label. If you don't smell gas, go to the
nextstep.
6. Remove(or open)inner door locatedbelowthe gas
controlunit.(F,gure 9, page15)
7. Findpilot-follow metaltubefromgas control. T he pilot
is located on theright handsideofthe burner.

9. Push in control knob all the way and hold down
Immediatelylightthe pilot with a match.Continue to
hold controlknob in for aboutone (1) minuteafter
thepilot is lit. Releaseknoband it wilt popback up.
Pilotshouldremainlit. if it goes out, repeatsteps4
through g.
• if knobdoes not popup whenreleased,stopand
immediatelycall your servicetechnicianor gas
supplier.

depressand turnthe gascontrolknobclockwise

11. At armslengthaway,turngascontrotknobcounter-

to the full "ON" position.

12. At arms length away,set the thermostatto desired
setting. T he mark( T ) HOTindicative of approximate
120°Fis preferredstarting point. Some local laws
may requirea lowerstartingpoint.If hotterwateris
desired, s ee instruction manual a nd "warning" below.
13.Replace theouterdoorif notreplaced instep10.
