1. INTRODUCTION
Restrictions on names for BINs and clips
The following restrictions apply to the naming of BINs and clips.
T The following characters can not be used in names: ¥ (yen sign), / (slash), : (colon),
, (comma), ; (semicolon), 2 (asterisk), ? (question mark), '' '' (quotation mark), < (less
than), > (greater than), ' ' (space) and | (vertical bar).
T A ''.'' (period) can not be used at the beginning of a name.
T When full-size characters are used for a name, some name may not be displayed correctly
although this depends on the character string.
T Do not use the same name for BINs at the same hierarchical level.
Restrictions on processing during transfer
As a general rule, operations involving the keyboard or mouse must not be performed while
clips are being transferred by ClipCopy. Rather, they should be performed either upon com-
pletion of transfer or after transfer has been aborted.
Restrictions on deleting clips
ClipCopy can be used to delete clips (files) on the video server or local drive but it cannot
delete clips on BINs. To delete such clips, use the newsBYTE/QuickCutter main unit appli-
cation.
