You can also verify that Windows can communicate with
the modem. To do this, select the COM port that is
attached to the modem, then click the
Windows communicates with the modem and then displays
some technical information about the modem. If this does
not work, the driver is incorrectly installed.

In Windows NT 4.0

There are two areas to check in Windows NT.
1 Click the

Fax Modem should be listed. If the HP Fax Modem is not
listed, the driver was incorrectly installed.
