Removing the Seat
The seat may be removed to ease performing maintenance
in the valve block area of the machine.
1. Unlatch and raise the seat. Secure with prop rod.
2. Disconnect the 2 wire harness connectors under the
seat.
3. Lower the seat and remove the cotter pin securing the
seat pivot rod to the frame (Fig. 40).
4. Slide the seat pivot rod to the left side, slide the seat
forward, and lift the seat out.
5. Reverse the procedure to install the seat.

Jacking the Machine
Caution
Before servicing, support the machine with jacks
stands or blocks of wood.
Before jacking the machine, lower the cutting units.
The jacking points are as follows:
• Right side—under the ROPS support bracket (Fig. 41)
• Left side—under the step
• Rear—at the castor fork

Changing the Engine Oil and
Filter
Change the oil and filter after the first 8 hours of operation.
Thereafter, change the oil every 50 hours and the filter
every 100 hours.
1. Remove the drain plug (Fig. 42) and let oil flow into a
drain pan. When the oil stops, install the drain plug.

2. Remove the oil filter (Fig. 42). Apply a light coat of
clean oil to the new filter gasket.
3. Screw the filter on by hand until the gasket contacts the
filter adapter, then tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn further. Do
not overtighten.
4. Add oil to the crankcase; refer to Checking the Engine
Oil, page 16. Do not overfill.
5. Dispose of the used oil properly.
