Remove the right and left cabinet. (Refer to 6-1-(l))
Remove the transmission mechanical unit. (Refer to
6-l-(2))
Remove two screws (one screw at each end)
securing the operation panel. (Fig. 6-4)
Remove two screws securing the cover located
back side of the operation panel. (Fig. 6-6)
Disconnect the CN24 on the M-2. (Fig. 6-7)
Remove eleven screws in total securing the M-2.

Remove two screws securing the LCD. (Fig. 6-7)

Replacement of the main parts
(1) Replacement of the contact image sensor (CIS)

Remove the right and left cabinet. (Refer to 6-1-(l))
Remove the transmission mechanical unit. (Refer to
6-1 -(2))
Turn over the transmission mechanical unit and
remove the pressure spring from it. (Fig. 6-8)
Remove two screws (one screw at each end)
securing the CIS. (Fig. 6-9)

(2) Replacement of the Thermal Head
a) Remove two screws securing the cover of the
receiving mechanical unit. (Fig. 6-1 O)

b) Remove two screws (one screw at each end)
securing the guide paper and remove the guide
paper while opening a part of the boss at both ends.

c) Disconnect two connectors while taking out the
thermal head. (Fig. 6-12)
d) Remove two screws securing the thermal head.

e) Install the new thermal head and check the printing
quality by performing a black copy or the head test
