Typematic Rate After Typematic Rate Setting is enabled, this item allows you
(Chars/sec) to set rate (characters/second) at which at keys are
accelerated.
Typematic This item allows you to select the delay between when the
Delay
key was first pressed and when the acceleration begins.
Security Option If you have installed password protection, this item defines if
the password is required at system start up, or if it is only
required when a user tries to enter the Setup Utility.
APIC Mode This items allows you to enable APIC (Advanced
Programmable Interrupt Controller) functionality. APIC is an
Intel chip that provides symmetic multiprocessing (SMP) for
its Pentium systems.
OS Select For This item is only required if you have installed more than
DRAM > 64MB 64MB of memory and you are running the OS/2 operating
system. Otherwise, leave this item at the default.
HDD S.M.A.R.T The S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting
Capability Technology) system is a diagnostics technology that monitors
and predicts device performance. S.M.A.R.T software resides
on both the disk drive and the host computer.
The disk drive software monitors the internal performance of
the motors, media, heads, and electronics of the drive. The
host software monitors the overall reliability status of the
drive. If a device failure is predicated, the host software,
through the Client WORKS S.M.A.R.Tapplet, warns the user
of the impending condition and advise appropriate action to
protect the data.
Video BIOS This function, when enabled allows VGA BIOS to be copied to
Shadow the system DRAM for enhanced performance.
