1 Is the transfer belt soiled or de-
formed?
2 Is the transfer belt rotating normally?
3 Is the jam paper retained on the
transfer belt?
4 Is the internal/external static eliminat-
ing roller operating normally?
5 Is there a fault in the transfer belt
cleaner assembly? Further, is it
subject to excessive load?

1 Is the separation charging assembly
operating normally?
2 Is the separation claw worn or
deformed?
3 Is the separation sensor (PS15)
operating normally?
4 Is the feeding belt operating nor-
mally?

YES Replace the transfer belt.
NO Replace the transfer belt
motor.
NO See IV. "Retention fails."
NO Replace the faulty parts.
Further, remove the
cause.
YES Replace the problem part;
in addition, remove the
cause of the fault.

PCB.

2. If soiled, clean with
solvent.

wiring; if normal, replace
