Adjustments

CAUTION
Never work on the cutting unit with the engine
running. Always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition switch before working on
the mower.
NOTE: See the Groomer installation instructions for
adjustment procedures for the groomer on your
Greensmaster.

Height/Depth of Groomer Adjustment

NOTE: Grooming is performed above the soil level.
When adjusting groomer height/depth, groomer blades
should never penetrate the soil.
1. Park machine on a clean and level surface, lower
cutting units completely to the ground, stop engine, en-
gage parking brake and remove key from the ignition
switch.
2. Make sure rollers are clean and cutting reel is set to
the desired height--of--cut (see Cutting Unit Operator's
Manual for cutting unit adjustment procedures).
3. Position the grooming reel to the lowered, grooming
position (Fig. 1).
NOTE: Improper or over--aggressive use of the groom-
ing reel (i.e. too deep or too frequent grooming) may
cause unnecessary stress on the turf leading to severe
greens damage. Use the groomer cautiously.
4. On one end of the grooming reel, measure the dis-
tance from the lowest tip of the groomer blade to the
working surface. Lift and turn height adjustment knob to
raise or lower the blade tip (Fig. 1). Each notch on the
adjustment knob changes the groomer height approxi-
mately 0.003 inch (0.08 mm).
5. Repeat step 4 on the opposite end of the groomer.
Then, recheck setting on the first side of groomer.
Height setting on both ends of groomer should be identi-
cal.
