2. Remove the cover from the air cleaner body. Before
removing the filter, use low pressure air (40 psi, clean
and dry) to help remove large accumulations of debris
packed between outside of the filter and the canister.
Avoid using high pressure air which could force
dirt through the filter into the intake tract.
This cleaning process prevents debris from migrating
into the intake when the filter is removed.
3. Remove and replace the filter
Cleaning of the used element is not recommended due
to the possibility of damage to the filter media. Inspect
the new filter for shipping damage, checking the sealing
end of the filter and the body. Do not use a damaged
element. Insert the new filter by applying pressure to
the outer rim of the element to seat it in the canister.
Do not apply pressure to the flexible center of the
filter.

Servicing the Diesel
Particulate Filter (DPF)
Service Interval: When instructed by the Infocenter.
The DPF requires removal and professional cleaning after
it has accumulated over 50 g/L of ash. The Infocenter will
warn the operator in phases when this DPF maintenance is
due. The first warning will occur when the ash accumulation
reaches 48 g/L and will show an advisory (number 179) on
the Infocenter. This advisory is meant to give your service
department notice that your machine will soon need DPF
cleaning maintenance. If you would like to know the current
level of ash in any of your Toro Tier 4 products, you can
find it by going to the Service menu of the Infocenter after
entering the PIN. Reference "Using the InfoCenter LCD
Display" for more information on accessing protected menus.
When the ash accumulation reaches 50 g/L, you will see a
engine fault come up on the infocenter (SPN 3720, FMI 16)
to alert the operator that the DPF needs cleaning. Also at the
50 g/L level, the engine will de-rate its power to 85%. At this
