Recoil-Starter
Pull the recoil-starter handle to start engine (Figure 6).
Fuel Shutoff Valve
Close the fuel shutoff valve when transporting or storing the
machine (Figure 6).
Choke Lever
Before starting a cold engine, move the choke lever forward.
After the engine starts, regulate the choke to keep the engine
running smoothly. As soon as possible, move the choke lever
all the way rearward.
Note: A warm engine requires little or no choking.
Throttle Lever
Move the control forward to increase the engine speed and
rearward to decrease speed; refer to Figure 7.

Operator Presence Bail
The operator presence bail allows the machine to start/run..
•
To start the machine, hold down the operator presence
bail (Figure 8). Continue to hold down the operator
presence bail to allow the machine to run.
