• Running mode 1 and 2 tests only loading and ejecting of disc.
• Running mode 4 does not include ejecting. 1 cycle consists of
accessing outer circumference → accessing inner circumfer-
ence.
• Running mode 3 tests disc loading, ejecting, and play back.
• Running modes 5 and 6 tests and checks disc loading, eject-
ing, play back, EEPROM operation.
• Mechanism error means an error at the time of loading and/or
ejecting.
• Disc error is an error at the time of disc play back.
• Feed error is an error at the time of feed operation.
• EEPROM error is an error at the time of EEPROM operation.
• Stop at the time of error is the mode where the operation stops
immediately after an occurrence of an error without retrying.
• Retry at the time of error is the mode where normal operation
retry is executed after the initial error, and if the error persists,
the operation stops.

4.2.5 ERROR/DIAG DATA display and CLEAR screen

[BACK] key: Goes back to the service mode
(1) DVD ERROR (DISC module error history)
By DISC module communication, acquire total error count,
the most recent 3 errors, initial 5 errors, and display them.

(2) MECHA ERROR (door mechanism error history)
Read total error count, the most recent 3 errors, initial 5 er-
rors, and display them.
(3) DC1 / DC2 (DC offset error history)
Read whether or not there is a DC1 error, and DC2 error
count, and display them.
(4) DISC EJECT **** times
By DISC module communication, acquire DISC EJECT
count and display it.
Stop
(5) [DVD ERROR/DISC EJECT CLR] key
Clears the DVD ERROR history and DISC EJECT count.
(Sends to DISC module EEPROM initialization command
(also initializes error history).)
→Goes back to the SERVICE MODE
(6) [MECHA ERROR CLR] key
Clears the door mechanism error history.
→Goes back to the SERVICE MODE
(7) [DC ERROR CLR] key
Clears the DC1/2 error history.
→Goes back to the SERVICE MODE
