Note the following safety notices. These relate to the entire working life of the device.
You should also read the safety notices relating to handling in the individual sections,
particularly in the sections "Installation" and "Commissioning".

General notices

Do not start up until you have established that the machine on which you intend to run this
component complies with the directive 89/392/EEC.
NOTICE
Battery change
Each SCALANCE S device has a battery. This battery must not be changed by customers
or by service personnel. A battery can only be changed in the MF-K production factory. If
this becomes necessary, send the device to the following address with the remark "battery
change":
