Selecting the main or sub
channel (DUAL MONO)
You can select the playback sound (channel) you
want while playing digital software recorded (or
broadcasted) in the Dual Mono mode, which includes
two monaural channels separately.

Press [SETTING] repeatedly to
select "DUAL MONO SET" in the
display window.

Press [+] or [-] repeatedly to select
the desired setting in the display
window.
• Each time you press [+] or [-], the display
changes in the display window as follows.
- "MONO ALL"
Select to play back both the main and
subchannels.
- "MONO MAIN"
Select to play back the main channel.
- "MONO SUB"
Select to play back the sub channel.
Dual Mono
Dual Mono can be easily understood when you
think of the bilingual broadcast for TV programs
(however, the Dual Mono format is not identical
with the analog formats).
This format is now adopted in Dolby Digital, DTS,
and so on.
It allows two independent channels (called main
channel and sub-channel) to be recorded
separately.
• If the sound effect does not match your
expectations, refer to "CHANGE AUDIO OUTPUT"
on page 38.

Adjusting the treble/bass
sound

Press [TREBLE / BASS] repeatedly
to select "TREBLE" or "BASS" in
the display window.

Press [+] or [-] to adjust the sound
quality.
• Adjustable sound quality is from -10 to +10.
Adjusting the volume level for
surround rear/subwoofer
sound
You can adjust the volume level for the left and right
surround rear sound and the subwoofer sound
respectively.

Press [SPK LEVEL] repeatedly to
select "SUR. REAR" or "SUB
WOOFER" in the display window.
• "SUR. REAR" refers to the left and right
surround rear sound.
• "SUB WOOFER" refers to the subwoofer
sound.

Press [+] or [-] repeatedly to adjust
the volume level.
• The adjustable volume range is from -6 to +6.
