DC Regulator Option
This chapter assumes familiarity with the operation of the 3-Input DC Regulator option.
It
describes only the regulator's electrical input requirements and its physical dimen-
sions.
7.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 3-Input DC Regulator requires an input set of three dc voltages: +24V, +5V, and
-12V. From this input set, the regulator supplies the power set of dc voltages required by
the D2246 disk drive: +24V, +12V, +5V, -5V, and -12V.
The regulator contains an input connector, a signal ground terminal, voltage converters,
and an output cable that connects to the D2240 disk drive. The 3-Input DC Regulator is
mounted within the D2246 and does not affect its exterior dimensions.
Figure 7-1 diagrams the 3-Input DC Regulator and Figure 7-2 shows its physical
dimensions.
