Pressthe MEMORY switch.
The original display returns, then the timer operation
standby mode is activated. "TIMER" (or "TIMER REC")
remains lit.
7. Prepare the sources to be used.
Note:
For tape playback: If tapes have been loaded into
both decks, deck 2 takes precedence.
Tape playback/recording will start only from the for-
ward side.
8. Pressthe POWER switch to switch off the power.
If the power is not switched off, the timer will not be
activated at the set time and the timer mode will be
released.
- To switchoffthe power during atimercontrolled opera-
tion, press the POWER switch. The ON/OFF timer will
then be released.
To check the timer settings
Pressthe TIMER switch repeatedly. The timer settings are
displayed in the following ordec
- ON time
-
- OFF time
. Source (Ifthe tuner is being used as the source, the
band, preset number and frequency are displayed.)
- Original display returns.
To change the settings, press the TIMER switchto select
the settingto be changed, then pressthe MEMORY switch
sothatthe display blinks.Change the setting as explained
above.
To set the timer again using the same settings
1. PresstheTIMER
switch. ThetimerON
time is displayed.
2. Press
the S= switch within 5 seconds.
. Every time steps 1 and 2 are repeated, the mode
alternatesbetweentimerstandbyand timeroffmodes.
3. Pressthe POWER switch to switch off the power.

If the CLEAR switch is pressed while the timer is
being set, the original display returns.
The timer mode is released if a power failure occurs
during timer operation.
When the ON/OFF timer (orWAKEUP timer) issetfor
the first time, or when the memory contents have
been lost due to a power failure, "0:00" is displayed
for both the ON and OFF times (or for the wake-up
time). In these cases, press the MEMORY switch
after setting the times using the UP and DOWN
switches. If the MEMORY switch is pressed while
"0:00" is displayed, "Err" appears, the setting mode
is released and the original display returns.
USING THE WAKE UP TIMER
Set the wake-up time and source to be heard. At the set
time,the set sourcewillbe heard and the power willtum off
after 60 minutes. The WAKE UP timer will function every
day unless it is released.
1. Press the WAKEUP switch.

2. Press the MEMORY switch within 5 seconds.

3. Set the wake-up time by pressing the UP and DOWN
switches, then press the MEMORY switch.

4. Select
the source using the UP and DOWN switches.

tion" under "USING THE ON/OFF TIMER".
5. Press the MEMORY switch.
The original display returns,then the wake-up standby
mode is activated. "WAKE UP" remains lit.
6. Prepare the sources to be used.
7. Press the POWER
switch to switch off the power.
To wake up to the sound from a CD, the volume will
gradually be increased (fade-in) at the wake-up time
over a 15-second period, so you will be awakened
gently.
Press the POWER switch to switch off the power after
the power is turned on at the wake-up time,
Even after the WAKE UP timer o~eration has com-
pleted, "WAKE UP" remains lit and-the standby mode
continues.
To check the timer settings
Pressthe WAKE UP switch repeatedly. The timer settings
are displayed in the following ordec
- Wake-up time
Source (Ifthe tuner is being used as the source, the
band, preset number and frequency are displayed.)
- Original display returns.
To change the settings, press the WAKE UP switch to
select the settingto be changed, then pressthe MEMORY
switch so that the display blinks. Change the setting as
explained above.
To release the WAKE
UP timer
Press the WAKE UP switch, then press the S=
switch.
Only the present time remains on the display.
