Getting Started
T hese quick setup pages will provide you, in three easy steps, with the basic inform ation you need
to begin using your new television right away. T his inform ation includes basic instructions on
operating your rem ote control, m aking a sim ple cable/antenna and optional V C R connection and,
finally, inform ation on program m ing your television's Auto T uner.
If you have questions, or for m ore detailed inform ation on any of these steps, please consult other
sections of this guide.
Step One - The Remote Control
T he rem ote control is the key to operating your television's m any great features. Before you can
operate your rem ote control, you first need to install the batteries (included).
S lide the cover on the back of the rem ote down towards the bottom of the rem ote control. Insert two
batteries carefully noting the "+ " and "–" m arkings, placing the "–" end in the unit first. S lide the
cover back into place.

Turn the television on and off by pressing the P
button at the top right corner of the rem ote.

Remote Key Feature Buttons
T he four key feature buttons at the center of the rem ote can be used for basic operation of the
television. T he top and bottom buttons will scan forward and back through the available channels.
T he right and left buttons will turn the volum e up or down. T hese buttons are also m arked with four
arrows and are also used with JV C 's onscreen m enu system . You will need to use these buttons
later in the Q uick S etup S ection.
T he next step is to connect your television to an antenna or cable.
