(2) Reassembly
Reassembly can be conducted by reversing the disassembly procedure. However, special attention
should be given to the following items.
• Replace the two Retaining Rings D4 [98] with new ones as they are deformed at disassembly.
• Stop rotation of the Magneto Sub Ass'y [97] by using the hook wrench (for
Flywheel Nut M7 [103] to the specified torque.

12. Disassembly and reassembly of the cylinder and scavenging cover
[Tools required]
• Hex. bar wrench (4 mm)
• Wooden hammer
• Liquid packing (ThreeBond 1207C)
(1) Disassembly
Remove the cylinder from the engine case before disassembling the cylinder and scavenging cover.
• Remove the four Hex. Socket Hd. Bolts (W/Sp. Washer) M5 x 18 [95].
• Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the hook portion and rotate it to remove the Crank Case [96] and
Cylinder [74]. If the Crank Case [96] is difficult to remove, gently strike its side with a wooden
hammer.
• Pull out the Crank Worm Ass'y [89] from the Cylinder [74]. If it is
difficult to remove, remove liquid packing (ThreeBond 1207C)
applied onto the two Oil Seals [91] and Cylinder [74], move the two
Oil Seals [91] until they become loose, and then pull out the Crank
Worm Ass'y [89].
• Remove the Hex. Socket Hd. Bolts M4 x 10 [69] (3 pcs. x 2), and
remove Scavenging Cover (A) [84] and Scavenging Cover (B) [70].
If the covers are difficult to remove, gently strike both covers or
insert a flat-head screwdriver into the hook portion of Scavenging
Cover (A) [84] and Scavenging Cover (B) [70], and then apply the
principle of leverage.
(2) Reassembly
Reassembly can be conducted by reversing the disassembly procedure. However, special attention
should be given to the following items.
• If the Oil Seal [91] is worn out or has a crack, replace it with a new one.
• If the intake port and exhaust port are dirty with soot, remove the soot. At that time, be careful not to
damage the inside of the Cylinder [74]. If any soot gets inside the Cylinder [74], remove it completely.
