Removing/Installing the encoder

For 1FK7□□-2, 1FK7□□-3 and 1FK7□□-4 motors, the encoder module (with the exception of
resolver) can be simply replaced without re-adjustment.
CAUTION
Electrostatic sensitive devices
Electronic modules contain components that can be destroyed by electrostatic discharge.
These modules can be easily destroyed by improper handling.
To protect your equipment against damage, follow the instructions provided in the chapter
"ESD Guidelines".
Removal
1. Disconnect the motor
2. Remove the four fastening screws of the encoder.
3. Remove the encoder
Installation
1. Insert the coupling element onto the encoder shaft.
2. Align the coupling element with the coupling half on the motor.
3. Attach the encoder at this position on the motor shaft.
4. Secure the encoder with four screws (tightening torque: 2 to 3 Nm).
