8.2. Refrigeration specifi cations
8.2.1. Refrigerant circuit diagram
See appendix
8.2.2. Refrigerant charge
CAUTION This equipment contains fl uorinated gas with greenhouse gas effects covered by the Kyoto agreement.
The type and quantity of refrigerating fl uid per circuit are indicated on the product plate.
The installer and end user will get informed on local environmental regulations for the installation, operation and disposal of the
equipment ; more particularly, for the collection of substances hazardous for the environment (refrigerating fl uid, oil, antifreeze,
etc.). A refrigerating fl uid, whatever it is, must not be vented. Refrigerating fl uids must be handled by skilled personnel.
ECOi-W units use the R410A fl uoro-carbonated fl uid, belonging to group 2 as defi ned in directive 2014/68/
CAUTION
UE. Considering the maximum operating pressure of these units (42 bar g), they integrate category 2 (or
lower) components as defi ned in directive 2014/68/UE.
8.2.3. Fluorocarbon gas regulations
The EC No. 517/2014 regulation covering fl uorinated greenhouse gases requires of refrigeration equipment operators to
comply with the following fi ve obligations:
1. Installation, servicing, maintenance as well as checking the sealing must be carried out by qualifi ed personnel.
2. The fl uorinated gas must be recovered during servicing and maintenance as well as the end of the installation.
3. All the necessary measures must be taken to prevent the leakage of fl uorinated gases and any leaks must be repaired as
rapidly as possible.
4. Regular checks on any leaks must be performed according to the following conditions:
- for equipment containing fl uorinated greenhouse gases in quantities greater than or equal to the equivalent of 5 tonnes
of CO
but less than the equivalent of 50 tonnes of CO
2
installed, at least every twenty-four months
- for equipment containing fl uorinated greenhouse gases in quantities greater than or equal to the equivalent of 50 tonnes of
CO
but less than the equivalent of 500 tonnes of CO
2
at least every twelve months
- for equipment containing fl uorinated greenhouse gases in quantities greater than or equal to the equivalent of 500 tonnes
of CO
: at least every three months or, if a leak detection system is installed, at least every six months.
2
5. A document grouping a description of all the operations carried out on the cooling circuit must be drafted and conserved.
Non-compliance with one of these obligations constitutes an offense and can result in fi nancial penalties.
CAUTION
Furthermore, compliance of the equipment with the fl uorinated gases regulation must be proven to the
insurance company.
8.2.3.1. Calculating greenhouse gas quantities
Greenhouse gas quantity (kg of CO
Quantity of greenhouse gas expressed in weight (kg) and CO
Quantity of gas: amount of gas contained in the machine in kg (see ID plate)
GWP (Global Warming Potential) of the gas contained in the machine (see ID plate)
• GWP for the R410A = 2088
: at least every twelve months or, if a leak detection system is
2
