Salvo Sequence Programming
Instructions
The SalvoSwitching feature is a method of switching
video from several cameras as a synchronized group
on two or more monitors.
A practical example of the SalvoSwitching feature is
an eight story parking garage where each level has
five cameras. The system may be programmed to
enable five monitors to display the garage one floor
at a time. When in the Run mode, the system will
switch from floor to floor displaying each group for a
pre-selected dwell time.
Before
the
SalvoSwitching
programmed, it must be understood how the
Allegiant
system
executes
program. The simplest way to think of the program
information is in terms of a spreadsheet type table
consisting of steps, where each step contains four
columns of information.
The table shown below is a typical sequence used to
illustrate the SalvoSwitching feature:

The program above uses five display monitors (1-5)
to salvo switch two groups of cameras. The first
group of cameras is 1,3,5,6 and 8. The second is
2,4,7,9 and 12. The SALVO dwell command is
entered by keying in '61'. A SALVO entry indicates
that the step will be performed concurrently with the
next step. Therefore, in the above program, cameras
1,3,5,6 and 8 will be displayed on monitors 1,2,3,4
and 5, respectively, for 5 seconds before being
replaced by cameras 2,4,7,9 and 12 for 5 seconds.

This program will continue to sequence between
these two groups of cameras for a five second dwell
as long as the Allegiant system is in the Run mode.
If it is desired in the program to stop the display at a
particular set of salvo switched cameras, simply
replace the dwell time for that group of cameras with
the HOLD command. For example, in step 5 of the
sample sequence, replacing the dwell time of 5
seconds with the HOLD command will display
cameras 1,3,5,6 and 8 on monitors 1 through 5 until
the operator continues execution of the program by
depressing the RUN button.
As
with
any
sequence,
SalvoSwitching feature sequence may be controlled
from the keyboard with the PREVIOUS, NEXT, RUN,
and HOLD keys (see the appropriate section of the
manual). These keys treat each group of salvo
switched cameras as though they were a single step;
the cameras in the group always switch in unison.
When the sequence is running backwards, the
camera groups SALVO switch the same as when it is
running forwards.
