mand received from the module, in the following format.

• Transmit "OSD display request command" (start EE-
PROM record data OSD display mode) to DISC module.
• If, while this item is selected, remote controller key
(CURSOR UP/ DOWN/ LEFT/ RIGHT) signal is received,
forward to the DISC module the same (CURSOR UP/
DOWN/ LEFT/ RIGHT).
• If this item is selected, only POWER OFF is valid. Selec-
tion of the items q~!3 is invalid. (Due to DISC module
not guaranteeing regular operation after this mode)
4. RUNNING MODE display specifi cations (Layer 2)
Directly touch the item to select the operation.

3rd line display: Display Arg 5,6,7 (BCD) of the Unit request
(running status) received from DISC module in 6 digits.
4th line display: Display Arg 2,3,4 (HEX) of the Unit request
(running status) received from DISC module in 6 digits.

• Running mode 1 and 2 tests only loading and ejecting of
disc.
• Running mode 4 does not include ejecting. 1 cycle con-
sists of accessing outer circumference → accessing in-
ner circumference.
• Running mode 3 tests disc loading, ejecting, and play
back.
• Running modes 5 and 6 tests and checks disc loading,
ejecting, play back, EEPROM operation.
• Mechanism error means an error at the time of loading
and/or ejecting.
• Disc error is an error at the time of disc play back.
• Feed error is an error at the time of feed operation.
• EEPROM error is an error at the time of EEPROM opera-
tion.
• Stop at the time of error is the mode where the operation
stops immediately after an occurrence of an error without
retrying.
• Retry at the time of error is the mode where normal op-
eration retry is executed after the initial error, and if the
error persists, the operation stops.
