2. SMETER LEVEL CALIBRATION
Transit to the following screen display and calibrate
S.METER level offset.
There are 2 types of modes: AUTO calibration mode and
MANUAL calibration mode. If SMETER LEVEL CALIBRA-
TION item is selected, the AUTO calibration mode is always
selected.

1st line: Display the item
If auto-calibrating: (AUTO)
If manually calibrating: (MANUAL) is displayed.
2nd line: "00" is replaced with the S-meter momentary value
(in HEX 2 digits).
3rd line: "00" is replaced with the LEVEL OFFSET value (in
HEX 2 digits).
4th line: Display the calibration status (Not displayed when
MANUAL).
While standby: "STANDBY"
While calibrating: "IN PROGRESS..."
When completed normally: "OK"
When terminated abnormally: "NG"
BACK: End level offset auto-calibration and bring back to
the previous screen.
EXIT: End the SS mode at the same time as when complet-
ing level offset auto-calibration, and bring back to the nor-
mal screen.

Select whether to calibrate level offset by AUTO or MAN-
UAL.
If the 1st line item is AUTO, "(AUTO)" is displayed after
"S.METER LEVEL OFFSET CALIBRATION", and if the 1st
line item is MANUAL, then "(MANUAL)" is displayed after
"S.METER LEVEL OFFSET CALIBRATION".

Displayed only if AUTO calibration is selected in q.
Press this key to start level offset auto-calibration.
Additional Information
SSG setting when AUTO calibrating
• Frequency: FM 98.3MHz
• Modulation: Off
• Output: 35dBμV
With the above setting made, connect SSG to the set,
and start calibration by the [AUTO START] key.
∗ RDS SSG does not need to be connected.
If NG, slightly change output (dBμV) and start calibration
again.
