Troubleshooting guide

Before requesting service, make the checks below. If you are not sure about some of the check points, or if the solutions below were not a
solution to the problem, consult your dealer for instructions.
Power
No power.
The system automatically switches
off.

General operation
The display panel lights up and
changes continuously in standby
mode.
The system does not respond.
No operations can be done with the
remote control.

• Connect the AC mains lead correctly.
• The system is switched off by the sleep timer or the auto off function.
• Press and hold [–DIMMER] to increase the brightness of the display panel.
• You put in a disc that the system cannot play. Change to a playable disc.
• You put in a blank disc.
• You put in a disc that has not been finalised.
• You have not put in a disc.
• You have not put in the disc correctly. Put it in correctly.
• USB mass storage device is removed during recording.
• The USB mass storage device is using too much power. Change to "DVD/CD" mode,
remove the USB mass storage device and switch off the system.
• The USB mass storage device is full.
• Change to a USB mass storage device which has a larger storage capacity and do the
recording again.
• The number of USB groups is more than 255.
• The number of USB contents is more than 4000.
• Select an MP3 content before recording can start.
• Examine and correct the speaker cable connections.
• There is a power supply problem. Consult the dealer.
• Disc is dirty. Clean the disc.
• An incorrect operation was done. Read the instructions and try again.
• An invalid operation was done during recording.
• You cannot open or close the disc tray when recording from AM source.
• Disconnect the AC mains lead, and then connect it again. If the service numbers fail to
clear, note the service number and contact a qualified service person.
• The remote control and main unit are in different modes. Change the remote control
mode to make it the same as the main unit mode.
• You can only play DVD-Video if the region code is compatible with this system. You can
check the compatible region code at the rear of the main unit.
• The operation is prevented by the system or disc.
You are trying to play a DivX VOD content that was purchased with a different
registration code. You cannot play the content on this system.
The DivX VOD content has zero remaining plays. You cannot play it.
• Press and hold [ 8 ] on the main unit to select "DEMO OFF".
• The system cannot operate correctly because of lightning, static electricity or some other
external causes. Disconnect the AC mains lead, and then connect it again.
• There is condensation. Let the system dry for 1 to 2 hours.
• Point the remote control at the signal sensor on the main unit to operate.
• Examine that the batteries are installed correctly.
• The batteries are weak. Replace them with new ones.
