Calibrating the Screen

The LKRA-PCAB1 (herein referred to as the "calibration
camera") can be used to automatically calibrate deviations
that may occur in the convergence between the two
projectors that comprise the dual system. You can perform
calibration using the LCD panel and touch sensor via
simple operations with each calibration operation taking
about 5 minutes (when [STATIC] is selected for
[OPTION] - [CALIBRATION MODE]).

Periodic Calibration Using SPLs

You can create a calibration SPL and register it to a
schedule to perform periodic calibration with the
calibration camera. (Only for Ver.1.50 or later.)
Caution
• When performing a calibration with the calibration
camera, turn off all the lights in a theater.
• When the calibration camera is placed in a projection
room, keep the projection room as dark as possible.
• Make sure that there are no obstructions between the
calibration camera and screen.
• Run the projectors for 30 minutes or more before
performing a calibration with the calibration camera.
• When performing a calibration with the calibration
camera, do not operate the server from the touch panel
monitor or browser.
• To make sure that there is no error on the projected
image, verify the image visually after performing a
calibration with the calibration camera.
Also, you can confirm the calibration by using content
that includes characters or the internal test signal
"Convergence Adjust."
If you have any problems, manually perform a
calibration again with the calibration SPL.
Notes
• A calibration CPL must be ingested beforehand.
• For details on the CPLs to be used, contact qualified
Sony service personnel.
• The content displayed on the calibration camera's
display during calibration using SPLs differs from that
displayed during manual calibration. (only "REMOTE
CTRL MODE" appears at the center of the display.)
• If the calibration camera's power supply is cut during
SPL execution, server operations may become unstable.
1
Create the calibration SPL.
1 Perform steps 1 to 4 in "Creating an SPL"
(page 28) to create a new SPL.
2 Add the calibration CPL to the SPL.
Select the [CPL] radio button, and select the
calibration CPL from the list, and then tap
[Insert].
3 Add the function switching cue to the SPL.
Select the [Cue] radio button, and select the
function switching cue for calibration from the
list, and then tap [Insert].
Set the offset to "00:00:30."
4 Add the calibration execution cue to the SPL.
Select the calibration start cue
