Restoring Your
Most QuickRestore options are installed on your hard drive. However, in the event

Use the QuickRestore CD if you are unable to start your computer. This will help you
to get your computer up and running again.

To run the Quick Restore CD, complete the following steps:

From the Windows desktop, double-click the Compaq Support
Click the QuickRestore
displayed.
Click the Recovery button. You are prompted to insert a diskette into the diskette
drive.
Insert a 3.5-inch, high-density formatted diskette into the diskette drive and
click OK. QuickRestore will begin creating the emergency diskette for you.
When QuickRestore has finished creating the emergency diskette, store the
QuickRestore emergency diskette in a safe place for emergency use.
NOTE:
Restoring from the Quick Restore CD will return your system to its state at the
last System Save (see above).
Place your Quick Restore CD in the CD-ROM Drive.
Turn off your PC using the Reset button.
Turn your PC on using the Reset button.
Follow the instructions on your screen.
Insert the emergency recovery diskette when prompted.
Eject your Emergency Recovery CD when prompted.
Restart your system.
