Overview

The Quidway
NetEngine 80E core router ("NE80E" hereinafter) provides OC-48c/STM-16c POS
optical interface boards of different port densities to connect with the SDH transmission equipment
or other equipment. The boards may be plugged in any service slots of the NE80E and provide
2.5G transmission channels. Currently, they are widely applied in carriers' MANs and backbone
networks.
The OC-48c/STM-16c POS optical interface boards implement POS frame encapsulation/
decapsulation of data flows and SDH/SONET mapping/demapping of POS frames, provide external
optical interfaces at a rate of 2.5 Gbps, and provide such functions as loopback, environment
monitoring and information query.
