Unified Write Filter (UWF) settings

By default, the Unified Write Filter is installed on this product.
When the Unified Write Filter is enabled, writing to specified folders and files can be prevented. This means that Windows
system files can be protected even when the power supply was shut OFF by a power outage or other non-standard method.
For details on the firmware update function, refer to the Microsoft website.
To protect the system files, protect the C drive by the Unified Write Filter. Note that applications cannot be
installed after the C drive is protected.
When folders and files protected by the Unified Write Filter are written to, the written data is deleted when
Windows restarts. Take the following measures when necessary.
• Exclude target folders and target files from protection.
• Save necessary files to USB memory devices or other external memory devices.
Checking whether the Unified Write Filter is enabled or disabled
1.
Run the command prompt as Administrator.
2.

• To use another parameter, run either 'uwfmgr.exe ?' or 'uwfmgr.exe Help', and then check the help
information.
