4.3 Precautions on Piping
(1a) Ideal Upstream Straight Pipe Length Installation Requirements
If various joints are used upstream of the detector outlet, the straight pipe length
as shown in Table 4.1 is required.
(1) 90°bent
(2) Tee
(3) Diffuser
(4) Fully opened sluice
L: Required straight pipe length—straight pipe length plus half length of the detector.
D: Nominal bore size (diameter)
NOTES
The length of a reducer, if connected, can be counted as a part of the straight pipe length.
No straight pipe length is needed on the downstream side. If a butterfly valve is installed
downstream of the detector, do not let the valve plate protrude into the pipe of the detector.
(1b) Optional "Mount Anywhere" Installation
Mount-Anywhere Technology
With Toshiba's unique magnetic field distribution technology, the meter is highly
immune to upstream flow disturbances. A minimum of 3D (diameter) length of upstream
straight pipe from the flange is required to maintain the performance specification.
NOTE
The test results were obtained and demonstrated at Toshiba admitted flow calibration
facility.
