4-2 1 . STUCK RELAY RECOVERY

4-22. If the error m essage shown below appears on the computer's screen during the
Relay Test, the indic",ted relay ol! the indicated pin board is stuck. That is, ,its contacts
remain in the M AKE position even though a BREAK command was sent.

If a relay is stuck, perform the following procedure :
(1) Note the pin board number and relay number given in the error m essage.
(2) Remove the pin board. Refer to paragraph 4-19. Figure 4-8 shows the pin
board locations.
(3) Lightly tap the stuck relay with - your finger two or three tim es. See Figure
4-1 0 for relay locations on the pin board.
(4) Mark the stuck relay with a ball-point pen to indicate its failure history. If
the stuck relay fails more than twice, the pin board should be replaced. Refer
to paragraph 4-19 for instructions on pin board replacement.
