Engine Maintenance

Checking the Air Intake Screen

Service Interval: Before each use or daily—Clean the
engine rotating screen.
Every 100 hours—Clean the engine
rotating screen (more often in dusty,
dirty conditions).
Check and clean as necessary the air intake screen on the
front of the engine before each use or daily.

Servicing the Air Cleaner

Foam Element: Clean and oil after every 25 operating
hours, or yearly, whichever occurs first.
Paper Element: Replace after every 100 operating
hours or yearly, whichever occurs first.
Note: Service the air cleaner more frequently (every
few hours) if operating conditions are extremely dusty
or dirty.
Removing the Foam and Paper
Elements
1. Set the parking brake, stop the pump, stop the
engine, and remove the ignition key.
2. Release the latch on the back of the seat and lift the
seat forward.
3. Clean around the air cleaner to prevent dirt
from getting into the engine and causing damage
(Figure 43).
